Hummingbirds!

I’m anxious to launch the kayak and to get over to the Rachel Carson Estuarine Reserve to see how the horses fared through hurruicane Irene. However, prudence demands giving utility and clean-up crews a little time to get things squared away along the Beaufort waterfront first. I’m thinking tomorrow morning I might see about launching the kayak. In the meantime I decided to try something I haven’t attempted before… Hummningbird photos. I have several visiting my feeder at the moment. I set-up three hot-shoe flashes to freeze action and shot with my Sigma 50-500mm lens. The people that do a lot of this set-up a background but I just went with a natural setting. I have to admit my background is a little busy.

Hummingbirds make interesting subjects.
