Young Wild Mustang on Shackleford Banks

I recently visited Shackleford Banks to guide another photographer on his quest to photograph the wild horses. During our visit we were blessed with getting to observe and photograph one of the younger members of the herd. I’d estimate this foal to be less than a year old. We also got a glimpse of Shackleford Banks’ newest citizen, the little foal that was born the day following Hurricane Irene. Unfortunately that little foal, “Aftermath” I believe is what they’re calling it, was too far away for a good photo. Here’s a couple shot of the young mustang that treated us to a close up and personal visit.
