A Few Images From This Weekends Wild Horse Workshop: Saturday Morning Session

The weather was perfect for photographing wild horses along North Carolina’s Crystal coast last weekend. We started the workshop with a visit to the Rachel Carson Estuarine Reserve, Beaufort, North Carolina. The majority of the 32 horse herd were right where I expected them to be this time of year. As we spent time with these lovely animals some of the herd moved out onto the tidal flats area to graze. Naturally we headed out on the flats with them for a change in scenery and the chance to incorporate some reflections in our compositions. Here are a few of my shots from the morning session.

North Carolina is home to 3 herds of wild horses, two of those live along the Crystal Coast.

Movement and water splashes always adds drama to a nature photograph.
